Anxiety

Anxiety counseling aims to explore and help the individual to change their thinking patterns about the here-and now and the future, as well as how they react to stressful situations. Individuals who suffer with anxiety experience unhealthy thoughts patterns connected to their perception of serious threat/danger, leading to debilitating behavioral coping strategies to relive their overwhelming feelings of fear, helplessness, and vulnerability. In anxiety counselling we address and work on changing this thinking process and find more adaptable and helpful ways of thinking, coping with fear, challenge the perception of treat, integrate self-regulating strategies to help you deal with stress and emotions, and we work on your understanding of your physiological responses to stress, so you can be more competent and skillful to deal with anxiety provoking situations in here-and-now and in the future.
